Day 1
Begin with a delightful champagne brunch in the Bay Area before enjoying a guided tour of Filoli House, one of the nation's finest surviving country estates from the early 20th century. Explore the magnificent 36,000 square-foot Georgian Mansion and stroll through its breathtaking 16-acre English Renaissance gardens, renowned for their seasonal beauty. Later this afternoon, continue to Monterey and settle into the charming Victorian Inn - 3 nights (BR)
Day 2
This morning, experience the world-renowned 17-Mile Drive, winding along the spectacular Pacific coastline through Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach. Enjoy a stop at the iconic Lodge at Pebble Beach and its visitor center, where you'll have time to admire the stunning ocean vistas. This afternoon, choose between an optional wine tasting excursion in scenic Carmel Valley or free time to explore historic Cannery Row with its unique shops, waterfront restaurants and attractions. Day 3
Today's adventure takes you to picturesque Moss Landing, home to one of California's richest coastal ecosystems. Board an open-air catamaran for a narrated cruise through the pristine waters of Elkhorn Slough, where you'll encounter playful sea otters, harbor seals, sea lions, and an incredible variety of native birdlife. Following your cruise, enjoy a hosted lunch at one of the area's renowned seafood restaurants. This evening, you may choose to visit Monterey's lively Fisherman's Wharf for dinner on your own. (B,L)
Day 4
Enjoy a fascinating docent-led tour of historic Mission San Juan Bautista, one of California's best-preserved Spanish missions. Following a hosted lunch, relax as we journey back to Sacramento, arriving at approximately 5:00 pm. (B,L)
