Day 1.
Escape to California's spectacular North Coast where towering redwoods, rugged ocean scenery and charming coastal communities create the perfect summer getaway. Our journey begins as we travel north into magnificent redwood country, stopping for lunch in Willits enroute. Along the way, our favorite local guide, "Mr. Tree," joins us for an entertaining and informative look at these ancient giants before we continue to Eureka for our first night. Red Lion Hotel (L)
Day 2.
The next morning brings a visit to the Sequoia Park Zoo and Redwood Sky Walk, where suspended walkways offer a unique perspective high among the trees. From there, we'll take to the water for a relaxing Humboldt Bay Cruise, followed by lunch along the waterfront at ever-popular Jack's Seafood before continuing south to beautiful Fort Bragg. (B,L,D)
Day 3.
Today we explore the colorful Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, then climb aboard Fort Bragg's famous Skunk Train for a nostalgic ride through the coastal redwoods. There will also be time to enjoy lunch and shopping in Fort Bragg before visiting the Noyo Marine Science Center and Crow's Nest. We'll finish the day with dinner at scenic Noyo River Grill. (B,D)
Day 4
Before beginning our journey home, we'll make one final coastal stop at MacKerricher State Park, known for its rugged shoreline and beautiful Pacific views. Then it's back through the valley with lunch served near Clear Lake before arriving home in Sacramento. (B,L)
