Day 1

Meet your fellow travelers at the Sports Leisure office before traveling to Avila Beach. In Avila Beach the sand and surf of the majestic Pacific Ocean are just steps away from your oceanfront suite. Avila Lighthouse Suites – 4 nights (L)

Day 2

Spend the day in San Luis Obispo visiting the CalPoly Arboretum and the Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. Known for its farm fresh cuisine, enjoy a delicious lunch in town before heading over to the iconic Madonna Inn for their world-famous champagne cake for dessert. We will take a look around the fabled hotel with it’s over the top décor. (B,L)

Day 3

Enjoy dramatic vistas at the historic Point San Luis Lighthouse Park where whales are frequently seen. Experience the rich history of the grounds and lighthouse during your tour that includes lunch. The afternoon is at your leisure in Avila Beach. (B,L)

Day 4

This morning offers breathtaking views of the ocean at Oceano Dunes; the only California State Park where vehicles may be driven on the beach. It will be a nice smooth drive along the water and then you will have an option to take the Hummer ride onto the dunes. Lunch will be on your own with free time at the Pismo Beach Pier. Tour the greenhouses of a rose farm; learn how they grow the most beautiful roses in the world enjoyed by millions at the Kentucky Derby and the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. Tonight we gather for a special seaside dinner in Pismo Beach. Listen to a live band play smooth jazz while watching the sunset over the Pacific. (B,D)

Day 5

Our days at the beach have come to an end. Depart the hotel at 9am; lunch is hosted on the way back to Sacramento; with a stop at Casa de Fruta, home of the “flippin’ cup,” to pick up a few fresh foods for your home. Arrive at the Sports Leisure office approximately 5pm. (B,L)
