Day 1 Welcome to the Desert
Fly from Sacramento to Palm Springs and begin your adventure with lunch at Grand Central, a stylish eatery located in the heart of downtown. Afterwards, enjoy a leisurely hour to explore the shops, galleries, and walkable charm of Palm Canyon Drive. This afternoon, choose between two enriching options:
- A city tour of Palm Springs highlighting the area's celebrity history, mid-century architecture and hidden gems.
- A visit to Agua Caliente Museum, featuring contemporary and Native American art. The museum was on Time Magazine's list of the World's Greatest Places in 2024.
Check in at your comfortable hotel with time to freshen up before heading out for an early group dinner. Then it's off to enjoy one of the area's stunning Christmas Lights experiences: Either the Magic of Lights drive-through at the Empire Polo Club or a festive walk-through display. Cap off your evening with a stop for sweet treats - ice cream or gelato - before returning to the hotel. Dunes Hotel - 2 nights (L, D)
Day 2 Peaks, Pasta & Performance
This morning, begin the day with a tour of celebrity homes and sites in the area. The tour consists of 50 Celebrity homes and some History of Palm Springs, including Mid-Century tours. Here are some of the famous homes of stars that you are going to see: Marilyn Moore, Elizabeth Taylor, Betty Gable, Lucille Ball, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Gene Autry, George Burns, Sammy Davis Jr., Tarzan, Elvis Presley, Doris Day, Leonardo DiCaprio and many more do or have called the Palm Springs area home. Next ride the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway up Chino Canyon to a mountaintop lodge for lunch with sweeping desert views. After descending, enjoy afternoon downtime or a second chance to browse the boutiques downtown. Tonight, we dine in downtown Palm Springs (restaurant TBA). Then it's showtime! (FB, L, D)
Day 3 Desert Discoveries & Departure
Enjoy a morning tour of the Palm Springs Windmill Farm, offering a behind-the-scenes look at renewable energy in the desert. After lunch, you have a choice. Another natural learning adventure, heading out on a Jeep Tour of the San Andreas Fault, where expert guides take you through shallow canyons and the geological drama that shaped California. Or you can take a couple of hours to shop in downtown Palm Springs. Lots of eclectic stores to help you find the perfect Christmas gift. If you choose the shopping option, you will receive a $135.00 credit for the Jeep tour. Return to the airport in the late afternoon for your flight home, bringing with you the joy of the Christmas holiday season. (FB)
