Daily Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Albuquerque for lunch at the hip Standard Diner. Celebrity chef, Guy Fieri, raves about it for good reason. Just wait until you try the desserts! Be sure to come hungry! In Old Town Albuquerque scour the shops selling everything from jewelry to local specialty food products. Green chile potato chips, anyone? They pack a tasty and spicy punch! At your hotel, a generous complimentary buffet spread with cocktails is offered each evening. Grab a beverage and slip into the town’s soothing vibe. Drury Plaza Hotel in Santa Fe – 4 nights (L) 

Day 2

By trolley get an overview of Santa Fe’s unique history and architecture before a guided walking tour of the Palace of the Governors. Enjoy lunch on your own and browse the authentic Native American jewelry for sale in the plaza. At the Georgia O’Keefe Museum artwork spanning the many periods of her life is displayed. A most fascinating woman! Dinner is at local institution, La Casa Sena served by the singing wait staff in the lively Southwestern cantina. (FB,D)

Day 3

After a stop at New Mexico’s one-of-a-kind Capitol Building venture into the vast beauty of the desert with a naturalist guide. Nestled in the hills is the Santuario de Chimayo healing shrine. There is a palpable calm here, and the clay is said to cure physical ailments. You may even take a little with you. Chimayo weavers, preserving an ancient art, explain the colorful patterns as they demonstrate their skill. Enter the Chama River Valley, known as O’Keefe Country, after lunch. No wonder she was so drawn to the land. There are awe-inspiring vistas around every corner! (FB,L)

Day 4

Today is Santa Fe, your way! Explore the maze of alleys, discover hidden courtyards, shop ‘til you drop, or find a spot in the plaza to relax. Join an immersive tour of world-renowned Canyon Road, where all mediums of art are found! On Museum Hill, choose from four acclaimed collections to peruse. Pick your attraction and transportation is provided. Tonight, share your adventures over a cocktail at your hotel. (FB)

Day 5

Mines producing the signature gem of the Southwest used to line the Turquoise Trail, culminating in the kooky town of Madrid. Artisans have brought new life to this dusty ghost town. It is your last chance to find that perfect souvenir! After lunch, visit Acoma Sky City, an inhabited pueblo perched high on a bluff. Your guide shows you their home in the sky and shares the storied history and customs of this culture. Depart Albuquerque, refreshed and rejuvenated, arriving home in the evening. (FB,L)
