Train in Nova ScotiaDay 1

Fly to Halifax on Delta Airlines. Four time zones and nearly 4000 miles away, you’ll be more than ready for your peaceful, historic accommodations upon arrival. Best of all, the hotel adjoins the train station! Westin Nova Scotian – 2 nights

Halifax, Nova ScotiaDay 2

Sleep late (you’ll need it after yesterday’s long day of travel), then tour Nova Scotia’s Capital City in the afternoon starting with lunch. In the evening enjoy a walk along the waterfront, home to museums, shops and restaurants specializing in fresh North Atlantic seafood. Lobster anyone? (FB,L)

Peggy's CoveDay 3

Tour peaceful Peggy’s Cove before boarding VIA’s Ocean midday as your rail adventure begins. You’ll spend one night and have three meals onboard. Ocean (FB,L,D)

Basilique Notre-Dame de MontréalDay 4

Arrive Montreal mid-morning and embark on a city tour to include the stunning Notre Dame Basilica and lunch. Once again, your hotel conveniently adjoins the station. Fairmont Queen Elizabeth (FB,L)

Toronto from the waterDay 5

It only takes about five hours to train from Montreal to Toronto where you’ll spend your next night including dinner served high above the city at the stunning CN Tower. Does your hotel adjoin the station? You bet! Fairmont Royal York (FB,D)

View of the Rocky Mountains, CanadaDay 6-9

The Canadian departs Toronto around 9:00am. You’ll spend four full days and nights riding the rails across the billowing plains and dramatic mountain ranges of central and western Canada. Twelve meals are included, along with exemplary sightseeing from any of the domed observation cars. From the billowing plains to the majesty of the Rocky Mountains, the scenery is simply amazing. Vancouver Granville Island MarketDay 10

The train is scheduled to arrive in Vancouver at 8am… which it seldom does. So we’ve built in an extra day to provide necessary flexibility. On a city tour explore this great West Coast city including visits to Stanley Park and Granville Island. Your hotel adjoins the airport. Are you beginning to see a theme here? Air Canada now operates one non-stop per day between Vancouver and Sacramento, and you’ll be on it departing around 10am.
