Daily Itinerary
Day 1
Touch down in Calgary, your gateway to the Canadian Rockies, and watch prairie flatlands rise into jagged peaks as you drive away from the city. Welcome to Banff National Park where the adventure begins! Banff Caribou Lodge – 4 nights (D)
Day 2
Postcards come to life as the Bow River guides us to shimmering Lake Louise where every photo could be a magazine cover. Stroll along the lakeshore, explore and have lunch at the storybook Château Lake Louise, then cross into British Columbia for the wonders of Yoho National Park: The Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and the churning Kicking Horse River as it flows under the Natural Bridge. (FB,L)
Day 3
Snap the Banff Springs Hotel like royalty once did. See Bow Falls, walk to the otherworldly Hoodoos and cruise the “Lake of the Spirits,” Lake Minnewanka, aboard the Alberta Explorer. Tonight, ascend Sulphur Mountain by gondola for sky-high dining - dinner served at 7,500 feet. Here the sunset might just ruin you for all others! (FB,D)
Day 4
Journey the jaw-dropping Icefields Parkway, quite literally the highway to the ice, where glaciers cling to mountaintops like icing on a cake. Stand before Crowfoot Glacier, gaze at neon-blue Peyto Lake, and ride the colossal Ice Explorer onto the Athabasca Glacier, a frozen giant beneath your feet. Wildlife sightings are the encore. (FB)
Day 5
Return to Calgary into the electric buzz of Stampede Park. Feast at a Western buffet, then feel the adrenaline of Chuckwagon Races as hooves and wheels blur into thunder and lightning. Later the Grandstand Show explodes in music, acrobatics and a finale of fireworks lighting the prairie sky. Delta Hotel by Marriott – 2 nights (FB,D)
Day 6
See the grit and glory of the World’s Richest Rodeo, six action-packed events including the untamed thrill of bull riding filling your day with fun and excitement. Visit the vibrant Elbow River Camp and savor your final dinner, swapping stories of mountains, glaciers, galloping hooves and rodeo royalty. (FB,D)
Day 7
Take one last deep breath of crisp Canadian air before your flight home with your time in the Rockies and at the Stampede forever etched in memory. (FB)
