Daily Itinerary

Day 1.

Start your trip in Seattle with visits to places that make this city famous.  The Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit and the Space Needle where you catch a bird's eye view from the top of this icon.  Lunch is served at a local eatery with a view.  Your hotel in nearby Tacoma is also a museum featuring amazing works by Pacific Northwest artists.  Hotel Murano (L)

Day 2.

Board the Coast Starlight at King Street Station in Seattle.  The scenery along the route is unsurpassed: Snow covered peaks of the Cascade Range and Mount Shasta, lush forests, fertile valleys, and Pacific Shoreline.  "Nothing could be finer" than lunch and dinner served in the dining car.  Be sure to catch the scenery in the observation car with its oversized windows and comfortable seats made for viewing.  Your sleeping car attendant will provide turndown service before you settle in for the night. Onboard the Coast Starlight (B, L, D)

Day 3.

Your train continues south today with all three meals onboard.  Pay attention as you travel through familiar California cities - they look different from a train! In the evening you'll pass along the beautiful Pacific Coast arriving at Union Station in Los Angeles after nightfall. Hilton Checkers Hotel (FB, L)

Day 4.

After a guided tour of Union Station have lunch at Philippe The Original, originator of the French Dip.  It's a L.A. tradition!  Then it's off to the airport for an afternoon return to Sacramento. (FB, L)
