Daily Itinerary

Day 1

Check into your resort which is nestled in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains amidst stunning desert landscape. During your stay, walk the resort’s half-mile paved nature trail through the Sonoran desert with signs identifying the plants and animals that are indigenous to the area, an 80 foot waterfall, hummingbird and butterfly exhibits. Enjoy the pool, spa, and nightly entertainment. Loews Ventana Canyon Resort – 4 nights (L)

Day 2

One of the “must-dos” when visiting Tucson is to experience Sonoran-influenced cuisine! Today’s tour features a combination of cuisine, history and fun. Visit family-owned eateries that are truly eager to share their passion with you. Visit the White Dove of the Desert, the Mission San Xavier del Bac, the finest example of mission architecture in the United States. With its graceful blending of late Renaissance styles, it’s a site to behold. (L)

Day 3

A truly magical experience awaits you at The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures. Miniature houses and enchanting collectibles are part of the extraordinary collection that leads you on a tour through different lands and times, both real and imagined. Visit Arizona artist Ted DeGrazia’s Gallery in the Sun. On your docent-led tour view the collections of paintings that trace historical events and native cultures of the Southwest through 15,000 DeGrazia originals oils, watercolors, sketches, sculptures, and jewelry. Day 4

Kartchner Caverns State Park features pristine limestone formations. Nearby, Tohono Chul Park has been connecting nature, art and culture for over 30 years. This afternoon enjoy lunch on the patio followed by a tour of its many gardens. (L)

Day 5

Depart Tucson on a late morning flight; arriving back to Sacramento early evening.
