Daily Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Albuquerque and make your way to the base of the Sandia Mountains. After your first taste of Southwestern cuisine, get a literal overview from nearly 4,000 feet above the valley floor on the Sandia Peak Tramway. Be greeted with Nightly Kickbacks, a generous complimentary buffet spread with cocktails at your hotel. Grab a drink and take a little tour. If the hotel were an art museum, it would be the largest in town! Drury Plaza Hotel Santa Fe – 4 nights (L)

Day 2

Trolley through Santa Fe’s unique history and architecture before a guided walking tour of the Palace of the Governors. At the Loretto Chapel hear about the mysterious visitor that arrived, left his mark and disappeared. Intrigued?  In the Plaza choose a spot for lunch then shop for authentic Native American jewelry. Tonight’s dinner features upscale cuisine befitting of the town’s flair. (FB,D)

Day 3

Venture into the Jemez Mountains and immerse yourself in the ancient culture of the peoples that once called these cliffs home. In Los Alamos there was a very BIG national secret that was manufactured here; the atom bomb. Back in Santa Fe the Manhattan Project’s offices are hidden in plain sight, but the happenings in this spot were top secret. Your guide grew up there, so hear about it firsthand. Just keep it quiet! Shhhh! Lunch is included. (FB,L)

Day 4

Today is Santa Fe, your way! Explore the maze of alleys, discover hidden courtyards, shop ’til you drop, or find a spot in the Plaza to relax. Join a tour of the many galleries located along world-renowned Canyon Road, with all mediums of art! Opt to visit Museum Hill with four acclaimed collections to peruse. Maybe you’d like to learn more about Georgia O’Keeffe at her namesake museum. She lived, loved and painted the area’s awesome landscape. What a fascinating woman!  Pick your included attraction and transportation is provided. (FB)

Day 5

New Mexico’s Capitol Building is unlike any other. Come in and see for yourself! You’ll agree. Along the Turquoise Trail is the kooky artist enclave of Madrid. Last chance to find that perfect souvenir! Lunch is at a place known as much for their world-famous salsa as their amazing food. Pick some up to remember your time in the Great Southwest. Scour the shops of Old Town Albuquerque selling jewelry, souvenirs and specialty foods. Green chile potato chips pack an addictive and spicy punch! Depart Albuquerque, with secrets to share, and some better kept to yourself. Arrive home in the evening. (FB,L)
