Reubens and Monet

Exhibits of two renowned painters promise a memorable day of beauty and artistry in San Francisco at the de Young and legion of Honor Museums.

We’ll begin at the Legion of Honor with The Early Celebrity of Peter Paul Rubens. A prodigious artist of the 17th century, Reubens rose to the first rank of Flemish painting that laid the groundwork for his fame and a style that would guide painters for generations to come. Several of the works in the exhibit have never left Europe before nor been shown on the West Coast.

In the afternoon, travel to the de Young Museum for Monet: The Late Years. This final phase of Claude Monet’s long career was spent close to home and inspired by his own garden at Giverny. Following the popular show Monet: The Early Years in 2017, expect to be equally impressed and mesmerized with works that include twenty paintings on loan from the Musee Marmottan Monet in Paris. The accompanying audio guides are included for your enjoyment. Lunch is on your own at either of the museum cafes.

We do not share specific pickup information on our website, as we have found over the years that other travel groups tend to use our pickup points without ours or the property owner's permission, which reflects poorly on our company and hurts our ability to offer convenient pickup points to our clients. Accordingly, we ask that you not suggest our pickup points to other groups you travel with, as "the more the merrier" does not often apply to parking lots. Your understanding is appreciated.
