Philadelphia Freedom!

Explore America’s Cradle of Liberty, historic Philadelphia. After all, it’s here the Founding Fathers gathered at Independence Hall to write the Declaration of Independence and those who first called themselves “Americans” wrote the Constitution just 13 years later. It’s the home of the Liberty Bell and the recently opened Museum of the American Revolution. Judge for yourself if Philadelphia owns this patriotic title during this tour focused on one of America’s great cities.

  • History abounds: The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Ben Franklin Ghost House and gravesite
  • Discover the NEW Museum of the American Revolution and National Constitution Center
  • Your choice of the Franklin Institute or Philadelphia Art Museum
  • Explore beyond Philly: Princeton University in nearby New Jersey and Longwood Gardens at their springtime best

Daily Itinerary

We’ll stay in Philadelphia all five nights at the Embassy Suites. With numerous restaurants and museums right outside your door, you will have the freedom to explore and dine as you please. Unpack only once, as we experience the “City of Brotherly Love.” Visit Independence Hall, take snapshots of the famous Liberty Bell, and walk in the footsteps of William Penn and Benjamin Franklin. Visit the new Museum of the American Revolution, just opened in April 2017, along with the National Constitution Center. You’ll also have a choice to visit either the Philadelphia Art Museum or the Franklin Institute at your leisure during a free afternoon.

We’ll explore the foodie scene of downtown Philadelphia during a special guided tour to include the Italian Market, and then lunch at your leisure from the nearly 100 vendors at Reading Terminal Market. Don’t be surprised by the colorful characters you meet along the way.

Outside of Philadelphia, we’ll visit a few other sights – the iconic town of Princeton and the Princeton Battle Field. We will also tour Princeton University and enjoy lunch at the Nassau Club before strolling the Grounds for Sculpture, an outdoor garden of flowers and very unique art in Hamilton Township.

On our final day we will travel west to visit Pennsylvania’s Brandywine Valley and the beautiful Longwood Gardens with more than 1,000 acres of stunning gardens and greenhouses, woodlands and meadows; the spring flowers should be gorgeous!
