Daily Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive into Kelowna late-morning, in time to visit your first local orchard for lunch. A quick tour of the orchard and fields gives you an overview of the crops grown in the valley; and why this area is so rich in farm-to-fork opportunities. Overnight in Kelowna, a waterfront community, nestled on the shores of the mammoth glacier-carved lake  that is the valley’s namesake. Prestige Hotel – 2 nights (L)

Day 2

Travel into the surrounding hills for a visit to the Okanagan Lavender and Herb Farm. Meet the lady who created this paradise garden and farm; and learn about the many uses of some of your favorite herbs. Taste some lavender lemonade. At Meadow Vista, learn about the bees of the Okanagan, sip some mead and enjoy lunch al fresco featuring the many products of the Okanagan. Tonight, dinner at Quails’ Gate, is a delight featuring even more of the regional products, including some mighty tasty wine! (L,D)

Day 3

Follow along the shores of the lake through the small communities dotting the valley. Along the way, visit the Allan Brooks Nature Center for a guided nature walk; and learn about some of the early pioneers at the Historic O’Keefe Ranch. Tonight, a welcoming lodge fire greets you as you check-in to your lakeside rooms at the Quaaout Lodge, a woodsy resort with a private beach, a spa and an 18-hole golf course. A small quiet lodge, every room has a view of the lake and surrounding forest, allowing you to watch the sun dance across the water. Quaaout Lodge – 2 nights (L)

Day 4

Options abound today: Join a nature walk along the Adams River with one of the local First Nations guides; book a spa treatment; play golf if you like; find a quiet spot under the trees for reading; or pick up a paddle and venture out onto the Little Shuswap Lake as the sun is setting for the day. Tonight, a traditional salmon clay-baked dinner completes the day. (FB,D)

Day 5

Travel back down the valley this morning for a late morning flight. Arrive Sacramento mid-day, after changing planes in Seattle. (FB)
