Arrive in Ottawa in time for dinner. Your hotel is located in the heart of downtown just a short walk to stately Parliament Hill. Lord Elgin – 2 nights (D)

Canada 2Day 2

Learn the history of Canada’s Capital City on a motorcoach tour. Stop to take in the pageantry of the Changing of the Guards on Parliament Hill. Meet the horses used by the RCMP at their stables and training ground. Lunch is included before a visit to the Canadian History Museum, a top-notch institution! Tonight, the Northern Lights a spectacular sound and light show projected onto Parliament Block’s striking façade illustrates the country’s achievements. It’s sure to wow! (FB,L)

QuebecDay 3

After a late night, kick back and relax in comfort as you ride the rails through Canada’s countryside. Le belle province sure lives up to its name as our train passes lush green fields studded with small French towns. Arrive into Québec City. Dinner tonight is a true Québécoise experience! Tour, dine and be entertained at a real working sugar shack where Canada’s signature product, maple syrup, is made! Quebec CityDay 4

With a local guide, set out on foot to explore both the upper and lower parts of the city connected by a funicular. Enter the historic Citadel, a still active military base, for the Changing of the Guards ceremony. The goat steals the show! You’ll see. Stop for lunch at the majestic Château Frontenac, one of the most majestic buildings on the continent. The remainder of the afternoon and evening is yours to explore at your pace. (FB,L)​​​​​​​

Montmorency FallsDay 5

Drive up the Beaupré Coast along the shores of the St. Lawrence River. Over 400 years ago, it played a major role in the founding of Québec City, the cradle of civilization in North America. Peer over the top of Montmorency Falls and feel the immense power of the water before taking a cable-car to the base. After a simplistic yet truly impressive lunch in a 17th century farmhouse continue to Ste.-Anne-de-Beaupré Cathedral. Make note of the ornate copper doors. Later you’ll visit the artist’s studio that created them! Taste an array of apple products including apple ice wine at a local ciderie before returning to the city for a relaxing evening. Basilique Notre-Dame de MontréalDay 6

Montréal, the most populous city in the province, is only a short ride away. Arrive and tour the city by motorcoach with time in Old Montréal for shopping and lunch on your own. The interior of Notre Dame Basilica is breathtaking. Stay in a stylish boutique hotel befitting of the city’s decidedly cosmopolitan flair and enjoy one last taste of gastronomie canadienne-française at Vieux-Port Steakhouse for dinner. Day 7

The Montréal Botanical Gardens, a National Historic Site of Canada, is considered to be one of the best in the world with its vast collection. You’ll be awed at the grand thematic sculptures! It’s a beautiful and relaxing ending to your trip. Arrive to the airport in time to clear U.S. Customs and Immigration, and to pick up quick lunch or snack on your own prior to your afternoon flight.
