Day 1
Boise has a vibrant Basque community. There are several communities of Basque-Americans in our country but Boise has the largest concentration. Just two blocks from our hotel is the “Basque Block” with a museum, cultural center, restaurants and a market. We will have a docent tour of the museum and a city tour with a local guide before checking into the newest upscale boutique hotel in the heart of downtown. Dinner will be hosted at one of Boise’s popular fine dining restaurants. Inn at 500 Capitol – 2 nights (D)
Day 2
Today enjoy a progressive walking food tour. Stroll through Boise’s hottest foodie neighborhoods as you sample foods from Award-winning chefs and learn about the city’s emerging culinary scene. From the culinary scene; to architecture and history, this experience will cover it all. This afternoon there is an optional visit to a winery for some tasting or next door to the hotel you will find a rose garden, the Idaho State Museum and the Boise Art Museum to explore independently. With your hotel right downtown, everything is close by. (FB,L)
Day 3
Depart Boise for Twin Falls. At the Perrine Bridge gaze into the Snake River Canyon; where base jumpers leap off the 486 foot structure. Not far away in where in 1974 notorious motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel attempted a jump across the quarter-mile-wide Canyon. Visit towering Shoshone Falls in the Snake River canyon; at 212 feet high and 900 feet wide its one of the largest natural waterfalls in the United States, surpassing the height of the famous Niagara Falls. Overnight this evening at the Hilton Garden Inn. (FB,L)
