Crater LakeDay 2

A remnant of a fiery volcanic past, Crater Lake is one of the deepest and bluest lakes in America, with surrounding sheer cliffs almost 2,000 feet high! Traveling around the rim of this ancient volcano will acquaint you with its geological history. After lunch at historic Crater Lake Lodge, travel the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway. Your accommodations are located on the banks of the South Umpqua River. Today is the 4th of July and you will be able to view fireworks from the comfort of your hotel. Wildlife Safari is a 600-acre drive-through park and village where you can have close encounters with animals from all over the world. Your hotel for the next two nights is located along the banks of the Rogue River. Riverside Inn Grants Pass – 2 nights (B,D)

Hellgate Canyon RiverDay 4

There are few adventures as exciting as a jet boat ride through Hellgate Canyon! During your 36 mile trip, pause down river at the OK Corral for an all-you-can-eat country lunch presented on an open-air deck. Your guide will educate you on many geological and historical points of interest. The canyon also served as a filming location for John Wayne and Katherine Hepburn’s popular movie “Rooster Cogburn.” (B,L)
