Daily Itinerary

Day 1

Fly to Halifax, Nova Scotia, arriving in the late evening. Your accommodations are in the historic Canadian Pacific hotel adjoining the train station. Westin Nova Scotian Hotel – 2 nights
 

Day 2

Enjoy a late start to catch-up with your new time zone, then embark on a guided sightseeing tour of this modern Capital City with small town hospitality. Visit the waterfront, historic downtown and tour the impressive Citadel National Historic Site with a bistro lunch served along the way. (FB,L)

Day 3

Explore Peggy’s Cove, a quaint fishing village frozen in time, before meeting your first train, VIA Rail’s Ocean. Onboard you’ll enjoy the service and hospitality of Easterly Class. Couples will enjoy private sleeping quarters which feature upper/lower berths while single travelers will occupy a roomette, a smaller accommodation. The Dining Car serves a menu featuring local fare. The Ocean (FB,L,D)

Day 4

Bienvenue à Montréal, but alas not for long. A quick connection has you aboard Train 65 on a 5-hour ride bound for Toronto. Your accommodations there are in another historic Canadian Pacific hotel, one of the grandest of them all!  Fairmont Royal York (FB)

Days 5-8

Cross the street to the station and meet your final train, VIA Rail’s Train #1, The Canadian, scheduled for a mid-morning departure. Yes, we’ve saved the best for last! Your remaining days in Canada will be spent surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the western and central provinces as you pass the lakes and rivers of Ontario, the prairies of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and the tall mountain peaks of the Canadian Rockies in Alberta and British Columbia en route to Vancouver. While onboard the train you will enjoy VIA Rail’s famed Silver and Blue Service. All meals are included in the Dining Car and you will have access to the Park Cars and Bullet Lounge with their popular sightseeing domes. VIA Rail’s onboard service staff will be on hand during every mile of the journey to prepare your room and assist with meal reservations. The Canadian – 4 nights (4FB,4L,4D)
