Daily Itinerary

Day 1

Fly into Anchorage via Seattle. Enjoy a historical tour of Anchorage en route to your meet-and-greet reception featuring hors d’oeuvres highlighting locally-sourced ingredients as well as craft beer and wine. Voyager Hotel (L)  

Day 2

Take a 70-minute scenic flight tour from Lake Hood (home to the world’s busiest seaplane airport and base) to Lake Clark National Park, situated at the headwaters of Bristol Bay in the remote Alaskan wilderness! Upon arrival at the lodge, enjoy an up close brown bear viewing tour from the comfort of the private covered pontoon boat. Watch bears feed on spawning salmon and frolicking in the water. Relax and enjoy lunch at a rustic Alaskan lodge. Fly to Homer and settle in to your hotel. Each room provides views of the ocean. Land’s End Resort – 2 nights (B,L)  

Day 3

Spend the day cruising Kachemak Bay. Our first stop is Gull Island seabird rookery, home to thousands of seabirds. Then we venture towards Eldred Passage where our onboard host will share history, geography and wildlife biology. Keep your eyes open for sea otters, humpback whales and orca whales en route to the seaside town of Seldovia. After lunch stroll the boardwalk and visit the museum. Return to Homer. (B)  

Day 4

This morning explore the famous Homer Spit; visit the various galleries filled with local art that line the geographical landmark. This afternoon take the picturesque drive to Seward, the gateway to the Kenai Fjords National Park. Harbor 360 Hotel – 2 nights. (B)  

Day 5

Explore the community of Seward which will include a visit to the Alaska SeaLife Center, Alaska’s only marine mammal rehabilitation facility and wildlife rescue center. After lunch visit the Kenai Fjords National Park Ranger Station at Exit Glacier. Take an interpretive walk to witness up close how glaciers have re-shaped this valley during the glacier’s great retreat. (B,L)

Day 6

Venture on an unforgettable cruise into Kenai Fjords National Park. Visit an active tidewater glacier, and discover the abundant wildlife while the national park ranger interprets the area’s ecology, history and geology. A salmon and prime rib lunch is included on-board while cruising the fjords. Upon return from our day out on the water, take the iconic Alaska
Railroad from Seward to the mountain town of Girdwood. GoldStar Service provides dinner served in the dining car, complimentary nonalcoholic beverages, two adult beverages, and elevated viewing in glass dome cars, as well as access to an open air viewing platform. Overnight Girdwood. Hotel Alyeska (B,L,D)

Day 7

In the morning transfer to the Anchorage airport for your flight home. (FB)
