Daily Itinerary

1. Arrive in Buffalo in the late afternoon and have dinner before crossing the border into Canada. Your hotel features stunning fallsview rooms. Upon arrival you must simply have a seat and take in the breathtaking vista before you. Best of all, you can do it all over again tomorrow! Hilton Niagara Fallsview Hotel – 2 nights (D)

2. Discover the village of Niagara-on-the-Lake in the morning, located where the Niagara River empties into Lake Ontario. Browse the quaint shops, have lunch at your leisure and savor the flavor of the region’s famed ice wine! Back at the falls don your slicker and take the plunge aboard the Hornblower cruise to the base of the falls. There you’ll witness the sheer magnitude of the world’s most powerful falls, as 85,000 cubic feet of water per second crashes roundabout you. After drying out a bit, dinner is served with a view at the popular Table Rock House Restaurant. (FB,D)

3. It’s a travel day “over the river and through the woods” of Ontario including scenic Prince Edward County, a historically British Loyalist island enclave. Take the ferry at Glenora back to the mainland and continue onward to Kingston, the first capital of Canada. Your hotel is located downtown so you can enjoy the pulse of this vibrant lakefront community in the evening. Kingston Market Square Hotel (FB,L)

4. At the town of Gananoque embark on a scenic St. Lawrence River cruise through the area known as the Thousand Islands. (There are actually 1864…and yes, the famous salad dressing originated here!) Equally shared by Ontario and New York State, the islands have been a vacation wonderland since the 19th Century. Onwards to Ottawa, Canada’s colorful Capital City. Lord Elgin Hotel – 3 nights (B,D)

5. Its Tulip Time in Ottawa! Discover the rich culture, history and most beautiful gardens on a guided city tour including a cruise on the scenic Rideau Canal during the annual Canadian Tulip Festival. Tonight’s dinner is an experience like none other. Great food and side-splitting frivolity are standard fare at the Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Theatre. (FB,D)

6. Ottawa is actually half of a twin city. Across the river is Gatineau, Quebec – home to the Canadian Museum of History Museum which you’ll explore today. Think our Smithsonian Institution, but everything’s conveniently located under one roof. The afternoon and evening are free for continued Tulip Festival activities or your personal exploration. There’s even a casino if you’re feeling lucky! (FB)

7. After a leisurely morning you’ll be away to the airport for the return flight to California. (FB)
