Sports Leisure Vacations was founded in 1979, and our first mission was taking people to Giants and A’s baseball games. Now, 34 years later, it is still the “Sports” in our name. We have three trips planned for 2013, the first being our annual jaunt to Spring Training. There’s nothing like the warm Arizona sunshine and baseball. Perhaps we’ll be celebrating an American or National League pennant, or even a World Championship. It’s happened before…
We’ll stay in a conveniently-located hotel, between all the ballparks north of the Phoenix airport. Breakfast is included each day, we’ll have an even bigger line-up of speakers and baseball talk will fill the air. As a small bonus, our hotel is the one used by the A’s for the players who do not have homes in the area (minor leaguers, players not wealthy enough to own their own condo in Arizona yet, etc.). So you might get to meet a future star, or perhaps a Rivercat or two.
Seats for the games are always excellent. We stay out of the sun whenever possible and always enjoy great locations. We always try to squeeze in a suite for one game at Scottsdale Stadium with an included lunch. It’s a leisurely itinerary and it’s mostly about baseball.
•4 nights at the Phoenix Crowne Plaza
•8 meals: Daily breakfast buffet, Sunday Brunch at the Scottsdale Conference Resort, lunch in a suite at Scottsdale Stadium, 3 dinners
•5 ball games, generally featuring the Giants and/or A’s – the schedule is released in early November and we will announce the game schedule then

•“Baseball Today” roundtable with Lou Klimchock, former major leaguer who will share his observations on the year ahead and what he sees in Spring Training
•Two additional guest speakers, one former player and one broadcaster (announced when they are confirmed, two weeks prior to the trip), lots of baseball talk
