Day 1
You will be picked up this morning by one of Carey Transportation’s vehicles and brought to the Sports Leisure office.
Board SuperCoach III and head north,
stopping for lunch in Redding. Late this
afternoon check into your home for the
next three nights, the Shilo Inn in Klamath Falls. Dinner and the evening are at your leisure. There is a fullservice restaurant on site. (L) -
Day 2
A remnant of a fiery volcanic past, Crater
Lake is one of the deepest and bluest lakes in America with sheer surrounding cliffs almost 2,000 feet high! A ranger guided tour around the rim of this ancient volcano this morning will acquaint you with the geological history of the mountain, a sister to Mt. St. Helens. Enjoy lunch at Crater Lake Lodge, a historic grand northwest lodge located on the edge of the caldera overlooking Crater Lake. Tonight a culinary delight is in store at a popular Klamath Falls

Day 3
Using the Lava Beds as their base, 53
Modoc warriors were able to fend off US
Army forces for five months during the
Modoc War of 1872-73. You’ll have the
opportunity to learn more about the war at
the Lava Beds National Monument Visitor
Center, as well as explore a lava tube or visit a battle site. You’ll also stop by the Tulelake Museum, where we meet our local step-on guide who helps us explore the surprises of this region, such as local prisoner of war and internment camps. (ECB,L) -
Day 4
Visit the home and studio of a famous
bronze sculptor and master taxidermist,
and marvel at his amazing creations during
your private tour. Lunch is hosted in the
town of Mount Shasta, nestled in the
shadow of its namesake. Arrive home in
the early evening, your journey made just
