Dreaming of Santa Cruz and Artichokes

• Day 1

  Your overnight tour to the cool California Coast begins with door-to-door pickups at your home by Carey Transportation to meet SuperCoach III at our office. Travel in comfort to Castroville for its 51st annual Artichoke Festival. See this interesting vegetable cooked and prepared in every way imaginable. You’ll also find arts, crafts, and entertainment. Up the coast, explore the Seymour Marine Discovery Center with a private tour including some time with the center’s dolphins. Your home for the evening was recently renovated when it was taken in by Joie de Vivre Boutique Hotels (the same group that opened the new Citizen Hotel in downtown Sacramento). The Dream Inn has been restored to the days when she was the Queen of the Beach in Santa Cruz. Every room has a view of Monterey Bay to
  watch the waves and the sunset! The hotel’s restaurant, Aquarius, has been redone as well and is one of your options for dinner at your leisure this evening.

• Day 2

  Enjoy a late morning checkout today and a leisurely breakfast and time to explore your surroundings. Take a walk on the beach or down the historic boardwalk, as both are just outside the door of the hotel. A short drive east to Livermore finds Wente Vineyards, California’s oldest ontinuously operated, family-owned winery. Enjoy lunch inside the popular restaurant before a tour.
