On The (Pismo) Beach

• Day 1

  You’re picked up at your home this morning and delivered to the Sports Leisure office, where SuperCoach III is waiting to take you in comfort to Pismo Beach. The route to Pismo takes you through Stockton and over Pacheco Pass to Salinas. Pause for lunch and then you’re off to the beach, arriving in late afternoon. For the next three nights, you’ll be partners with the Pacific, as the waves softly crash into the surf. We’ll celebrate our arrival with dinner at a popular local restaurant. Sea Crest Resort – 3 nights (L,D)

• Day 2

  Enjoy Sunday Brunch this morning and then have some time to enjoy the beach before one of Pismo’s most popular events. “A Taste of Pismo” is an Exclusive (ticketed) event, where local restaurants and wineries showcase their offerings. It is held from 1-4pm at a community park. Only 500 tickets are sold, so it truly is an exclusive event. Spend the afternoon sampling the best Pismo Beach has to offer. (A Taste of Pismo is lunch today.)

• Tonight, kick up your heels at the Great American Melodrama in Oceano. Boo and hiss and cheer… and, well it’s best to wait until the show starts, but still, it’s ok to have fun! Casual food is available for those who get the hungries. (BR,L)

• Day 3

  The Central Coast Lavender Farm has a special program to offer you this morning, showing you how lavender oil is distilled and how lavender candles are made. A most interesting twist to an old favorite (touring a lavender farm). Back at the beach, a fun afternoon with kites, horseshoes, croquet and a picnic lunch. Ah, this is the life! Conclude your stay tonight with a brief visit to a Sports Leisure institution. How about dinner at the Apple Farm, anyone? I thought so… (B,L,D)

• Day 4

  Time to leave our beach retreat and head for the valley. Depart after breakfast this morning, stopping at the historic Steinbeck House for lunch, a little shopping at Casa de Fruita and on to Sacramento, returning about 5pm. (B,L)
