Day 1
Begin with door-to-door service and transporationn aboard SuperCoach III bound for the coast. Lunch is included before checking into your luxurious hotel this afternoon on Cannery Row in Monterey. Enjoy a special evening by the bay with a private reception after hours with hors d’oevers and the ultimate insider’s view of the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Your private guide takes you on a very special behind-the-scenes tour passing through the “Employees Only” doors that you’ve always wished you could open. Behind the scenes, you’ll see where they care for animals and where new arrivals are kept. You’ll learn about exciting research projects being conducted at the aquarium and how food is prepared for over 10,000 animals. You’ll also get a glimpse of exhibits from the other side of the window!

Day 2
Today enthusiastic naturalist and historian Gael Gallagher acquaints you with Monterey before traveling along Highway 1 a magnificent segment of the California coastline that stretches from the crest of the Santa Lucia Mountains to the mesmerizing Pacific Ocean. Exceptionally scenic stops and captivating commentary compliments this journey that will also visit Point Lobos State Natural Reserve – believed by many to be the “greatest meeting of land and water in the world.” Lunch is included in Big Sur with the late afternoon and evening at your leisure back in Monterey. Admission to the aquarium is included this day for those who would like to return.

Day 3
Travel north along the coast this morning stopping at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse. At 115 feet, it is one of the highest in the country. Lunch is hosted in the quaint village of Half Moon Bay with free time to stroll through town before arriving back at the Sports Leisure office where you will be met by Carey Transportation and returned home.

“The Rock” Featuring a cruise to Alcatraz
The sights and sounds of Alcatraz come alive during your visit to “The Rock.” Cross over the Bay Bridge and travel along the Embarcadero to the Fisherman’s Wharf for lunch at one of the area’s oldest restaurants, Scoma’s where you will have a choice on site from a limited menu, including the fresh catch of the day. Our cruise departs for Alcatraz midafternoon with time on the island for exploring on your own with the included audio tour. Return to Sacramento following your visit.
