Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Your route today will take you into Yosemite along the historic Big Oak Flat Road (Rt. 120), arriving in the park during the late afternoon. Enjoy an evening on your own, perhaps taking in a ranger talk, or walk to nearby Yosemite Falls. The park operates a free shuttle service which is a great way to familiarize yourself with the layout of the valley and village and the area surrounding your lodgings.

Day 2

A guided tour of Yosemite Valley highlights the history and geology of the park, with stops along the way for you to snap photos of Half Dome, Bridal Veil Falls and El Capitan. The tour concludes at the majestic Ahwahnee Hotel with an included lunch in the grand dining hall, resplendent with its 30 foot tall windows, open beams, and surrounded by the beauty of nature. This afternoon you are free to explore on your own… perhaps the Ansel Adams Gallery, the museum, shopping, or even a walk out to Mirror Lake or Vernal Falls.

Day 3

A leisurely start today with time to enjoy morning in the valley before making your way towards the historic Wawona hotel. Once a pioneering stage stop, today this Victorian-style hotel serves as your host for lunch. Continuing on you’ll be winding your way through the southern foothills and Central Valley towards Sacramento.
