Sonora Theatre Christmas Overnighter

Kick off the Christmas season at the Fallon House Theatre with the sounds of the Andrew Sisters in Christmas of Swing, and on the next day the crooning of Bing Crosby’s White Christmas at the East Sonora Theatre. Both shows are productions of the popular and talented Sierra Repertory Theatre of Sonora.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Travel to Sonora, the “Queen of the Southern Mines” for the start of the holiday season. You will have an opportunity to browse the unique stores along historic Main Street in Sonora for that perfect Christmas gift for someone special on your Christmas list Saturday afternoon following a late lunch at Christopher’s Ristorante Italiano. Check in to your overnight accommodations at the Best Western Sonora Oaks in the late afternoon. Tonight’s evening performance of The Andrews Sisters, Christmas of Swing, is over at The Fallon Theatre in Columbia State Park. The show will have you stepping back in time as you enjoy songs of the Andrews Sisters and 40’s, along with Christmas favorites. (L)
Day 2

Enjoy a leisurely morning before going out to the Union Hill Inn, a small bed and breakfast that has quickly become a Sports Leisure favorite for Sunday Brunch. The Innkeeper, Barbara loves Christmas and her place will be decked out with trees and garland and tiny lights for the season, and oh the food…those who have dined with her previously know she always creates something special for us. Following brunch, it is time to enjoy a matinee performance of that familiar Christmas story sprinkled with Irving Berlin’s music and popularized by Bing Crosby’s crooning, White Christmas. Arrive in Sacramento after the show. (BR)
