Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Enjoy the convenience and comfort of a home pickup as you convene at the Sports Leisure office with your fellow travelers. Once aboard SuperCoach III, travel to Ukiah for lunch at the Crushed Grape. Continue into the land of the redwoods for an overnight in Fortuna. Dinner is included tonight in the Victorian village of Ferndale which is sure to be brightly decorated for Christmas. Day 2

Continue north today along the coast and through the redwoods, stopping along the way to view the mighty giants and perhaps even catching a sighting of the resident elk. Lunch is included in Brookings and then it is on to Coos Bay for an early afternoon arrival to the hotel. This evening is the North Bend Community Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony and Santa is coming to town! Mills Casino – 2 nights (ECB,L)
Day 3

We begin our morning with a step back in time to the Egyptian Theatre, a landmark in Coos Bay. Then it is off to see how things are being made in Oregon! We begin at the Oregon Connection/House of Myrtlewood, a working myrtlewood factory. At the Black Market Gourmet, Chef Jordan prepares a cooking demonstration as well as lunch for us before we head out to the South Slough National Estuarine Reserve. An afternoon ride around Shore Acres State Park gives us an appreciation of the natural beauty of the cliffs and crashing waves that form the backdrop for the thousands of lights which will be on display later tonight. Day 4

Visit Cranberry Sweets before heading south this morning. In Bandon, a stop at Oregon Jams is a must and then it is on to Eureka for the truckers are decorating their rigs for a parade this evening. Red Lion Hotel Eureka (L)
Day 5

Saying goodbye to the coast and redwoods today, we follow the Trinity River east, arriving in Weaverville. Enjoy some free time and visit the Joss House, the historic Chinese temple before continuing to Sacramento. Arrive back at the Sports Leisure office in the early evening. (ECB,L)
