    Day 1-2

    Arrive in Iceland after an overnight
    flight. After a welcome breakfast, visit the
    Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland’s most popular
    attractions – a natural geothermal pool in
    the middle of a large and dramatic lava
    field. Pause for a refreshing swim before
    continuing Iceland’s capital city, Reykjavik.

    Day 3

    This morning a short flight to the
    Westman Islands provides spectacular
    views. After arriving, cruise around the
    islands by boat. See colorful ocean caves
    and thousands of seabirds. Then explore
    the island by bus and see half-buried
    houses from the infamous 1973 volcanic
    eruption. The fascinating landscape teems
    with diverse bird and animal life, including
    one of the island’s biggest puffin colonies.

    Day 4

    Visit famous Þingvellir National Park and
    UNESCO World Heritage Site. Two of the
    island’s spectacular waterfalls, Barnafoss
    and Hraunfossar, are nearby along with
    Deildatunguher, the most powerful hot
    spring in Iceland. Icelandair Hotel Hamar

  • Day 5

    Our first morning stop will be at Grábrók,
    a volcanic crater. As it is possible to ascend
    Mt. Grábrók, here is a great opportunity for
    an easy and enjoyable hike. Afterwards,
    journey towards northern Iceland and to
    Akureyri, the second largest city on the

    Day 6

    Enjoy a day of sightseeing on the way
    to Lake Mývatn. Discover the beautiful
    Goðafoss Waterfall, pseudo craters, and
    walk in the Dimmuborgir Lava Field. In
    the afternoon, enjoy a soak in the Myvant
    Nature Baths before returning to your hotel.

  • Day 7

    Travel through the uninhabited highlands
    and moonlike surroundings to Egilsstaðir,
    the biggest town on the east side of the
    island. With some luck we might spot
    an Arctic fox or see reindeer on the way.
    Continuing from Egilsstaðir, admire the
    dramatic fjord landscapes. Overnight in the
    small fishing village of Djúpivogur. Hótel

    Day 8

    Jökulsárlón is a glacial lagoon at the
    mouth of the Vatnajökull Glacier. Icebergs,
    the size of a football field, break off from
    the glacier and spill into the lagoon. During
    a boat tour, we’ll sail between the floating
    icebergs. Our next stop is Skaftafell
    National Park which offers a short hike to
    Svartifoss Waterfall, one of the most popular

    Day 9

    Travel along the southern part of the
    Vatnajökull Glacier and spend time at
    Europe’s largest national park, which
    contains Iceland’s highest mountains
    and Europe’s largest glacier. The black
    lava beach of Reynisfjara near Vik is
    simply beautiful and is followed by a
    visit to Skogafoss Waterfall, one of the
    most impressive in the country. At the
    Eyjafjallajokull Information Center learn the
    challenges of living next to both a glacier
    and an active volcano. Our last stop of
    the day is the impressive Seljalandsfoss
    Waterfall where you can walk behind the

  • Day 10

    Return to Reykjavík this morning. Shop
    for a last minute souvenir and enjoy lunch
    before your journey home. (FB)

Join your fellow Sports Leisure travelers for a late morning trip to Truckee. Check into the Hampton Inn, don your best 60’s apparel (optional) before dinner at Moody’s before enjoying the show. Imagine, this venue has one of the most stunning backdrops in the world, a Lake Tahoe sunset!
After breakfast at the hotel; depart for Olympic Valley. Squaw Valley is one of the largest ski areas in the United States, and was host site of the entire 1960 Winter Olympics. A tram ride to the summit provides an aerial view of the valley, plus takes you to High Camp for lunch. Visit the Olympic Museum before returning to Sacramento, mid-afternoon.
