  • Day 1

    Fly to Los Angeles on a mid-afternoon
    flight and enjoy dinner before Train #2, the
    Sunset Limited, departs Union Station at
    10pm headed east. On board the Sunset
    Limited – 2 nights (D)

  • Day 2

    All meals are included on board in the
    dining car. Your accommodations are either
    a full bedroom, complete with a bathroom
    and shower, or a roomette, a smaller
    accommodation with shared facilities.
    Throughout the day pass through Arizona,
    New Mexico and into West Texas. (FB,L,D)

    Day 3

    Across Texas, into Louisiana and finally
    arrival in New Orleans at 9:30pm. Your
    accommodations are in the heart of the
    city and on the edge of the famed French
    Quarter. Sheraton Hotel – 4 nights (FB,L,D)

    Day 4

    A full breakfast buffet awaits you this
    morning at your hotel before a driving tour
    of the city to include the French Quarter,
    downtown, the Garden District and one of
    its mysterious above-ground cemeteries.
    Tonight, learn the secrets of classic Creole
    cuisine with a dinner class at the New
    Orleans School of Cooking. (FB,D)

    Day 5

    Take an excursion to Houma, located
    deep in the bayous of Cajun Country. Visit
    historic Ardoyne, a rare Gothic Victorian
    plantation, where you’re greeted by
    descendants of the original owners. Lunch
    is served nearby at Twelve Oaks Plantation.
    Explore the Greenwood Gator Farm, then
    see alligators in the wild on a swamp tour before
    heading back to New Orleans. Have you worked
    up a thirst? A stroll down Bourbon Street to
    Pat O’Brien’s, home of the Hurricane, should

    Day 6

    Start the day with beignets and café au
    lait at famed Café du Monde. The National
    WWII Museum has grown into a massive,
    world-class facility covering four square
    blocks. Take a midday break at BB’s Stage
    Door Canteen for lunch and nostalgic
    entertainment! (B,L)

  • Day 7

    Breakfast at Brennan’s is a true New
    Orleans tradition. Where else will you get a
    dessert of flaming Bananas Foster following
    the morning meal? Return to your home
    state in the early afternoon. (FB)


A Day Out in San Francisco

Enjoy a ride to The City for a day of shopping, lunch or just looking around! The coach will drop you at Pier 39/ Fishermens Wharf and Union Square.


A Play on the Lake, A Ride to the Sky

Head to Lake Tahoe for a fun overnighter featuring the 1960’s musical, Beehive. An exuberant jukebox celebration of women musicians from the 60’s; Beehive transports audiences on a nostalgic musical journey. The outdoor venue at Sand Harbor is perfect for a summer night of music, laughter, and of course Aqua Net-glistening coiffures! Join your fellow Sports Leisure travelers for a late morning trip to Truckee. Check into the Hampton Inn, don your best 60’s apparel (optional) before dinner at Moody’s before enjoying the show. Imagine, this venue has one of the most stunning backdrops in the world, a Lake Tahoe sunset!
After breakfast at the hotel; depart for Olympic Valley. Squaw Valley is one of the largest ski areas in the United States, and was host site of the entire 1960 Winter Olympics. A tram ride to the summit provides an aerial view of the valley, plus takes you to High Camp for lunch. Visit the Olympic Museum before returning to Sacramento, mid-afternoon.
