Leafin’ on a Jet Plane

6 Days, October 14th - 19th

There are lots of great places to catch the changing of the colors each year. Fall foliage is one of nature’s most spectacular shows and we think we’ve found a great place to see the leaves. New England? Too common and too easy to guess. Upper Michigan? Great guess, but we go to Mackinac Island most every year. No mystery there! Here are some clues to help you: Let’s all pray for world peace, then it’s “down the hatch!” It’s kinda chilly in here, maybe it’s a SIGN. Whole Foods is selling their ice cream. Pretty hot in this tavern and everything is brown, maybe gangsters hung out here? Hey, stop horsing around, because we can’t track that sort of behavior. OK, by now, you all know where we are going… or maybe not.

Route 66 – Western Side

9 Days, October 24th - November 1st

The second half of your journey down The Mother Road is very different from the eastern side. The spaces are more wide open in the west. There are national parks and the little towns are further apart and have a different personality. For the first time, the western half of the trip features two 2-night stays, in Albquerque and Winslow.

In Albuquerque, having extra time allows us to drive down the length of the longest Route 66 Main Street in the country, and take a side trip to Santa Fe (which was on the original route of the old highway). In Winslow, you’ll want your picture “Standin’ on a Corner in Winslow, Arizona,” (like the lyric in the old Eagles song), and we’ll head out to Petrified Forest National Park, one of the most fascinating places in the country. Of course, the highlight of your Winslow stay, and perhaps your entire trip, is your time at La Posada, a restored Harvey House Hotel from the highway’s glory days.

See the old Cadillacs “rear ends up” in Texas and eat at the famous Big Texan in Amarillo. Meet legendary Angel Delgadillo, the retired barber in Seligman, Arizona, who is the man most responsible for the preservation of the old highway. He’s 91 now and still going strong.

Finish at the pier in Santa Monica, but not before a plethora of SoCal “attractions” make their way into your Mother Road memories. You’ll have a chance to sleep in a tepee if you so desire; and see where General Patton prepared his troops for WWII.

Whether you choose only this half of the journey, or combine it with the eastern side, you will discover the heartbeat of our country. It’s the opportunity to learn how other people in other places live and what they think. It’s a slice of America you will never, ever forget.

Key West, Miami & The Everglades 2019

7 Days, January 26th - February 1st

Key West has become one of our most popular destinations with our annual tour selling out every year, months ahead of departure. It’s a top flight experience, limited to just 25-30 travelers. Here is your chance to get in early on the 2019 departure. All we are asking with your reservation is a $250 deposit. Next spring, we will bill you and give you the opportunity to take advantage of any Early Payment Di$counts.

Key West is a pedestrian-friendly destination, and because of that we walk to many attractions. For this reason, we do not recommend this tour for travelers with serious mobility issues.
